عَبَسَ وَتَوَلَّىٰ
English Translation:
(The Prophet (Peace be upon him)) frowned and turned away,
اردو ترجمہ:
وه ترش رو ہوا اور منھ موڑ لیا.
أَن جَاءَهُ الْأَعْمَىٰ
English Translation:
Because there came to him the blind man (i.e. 'Abdullah bin Umm-Maktum, who came to the Prophet (Peace be upon him) while he was preaching to one or some of the Quraish chiefs).
اردو ترجمہ:
(صرف اس لئے) کہ اس کے پاس ایک نابینا آیا.
وَمَا يُدْرِيكَ لَعَلَّهُ يَزَّكَّىٰ
English Translation:
But what could tell you that per chance he might become pure (from sins)?
اردو ترجمہ:
تجھے کیا خبر شاید وه سنور جاتا.
أَوْ يَذَّكَّرُ فَتَنفَعَهُ الذِّكْرَىٰ
English Translation:
Or that he might receive admonition, and that the admonition might profit him?
اردو ترجمہ:
یا نصیحت سنتا اور اسے نصیحت فائده پہنچاتی.
أَمَّا مَنِ اسْتَغْنَىٰ
English Translation:
As for him who thinks himself self-sufficient,
اردو ترجمہ:
جو بے پرواہی کرتا ہے.
فَأَنتَ لَهُ تَصَدَّىٰ
English Translation:
To him you attend;
اردو ترجمہ:
اس کی طرف تو تو پوری توجہ کرتا ہے.
وَمَا عَلَيْكَ أَلَّا يَزَّكَّىٰ
English Translation:
What does it matter to you if he will not become pure (from disbelief, you are only a Messenger, your duty is to convey the Message of Allah).
اردو ترجمہ:
حالانکہ اس کے نہ سنورنے سے تجھ پر کوئی الزام نہیں.
وَأَمَّا مَن جَاءَكَ يَسْعَىٰ
English Translation:
But as to him who came to you running.
اردو ترجمہ:
اور جو شخص تیرے پاس دوڑتا ہوا آتا ہے.
وَهُوَ يَخْشَىٰ
English Translation:
And is afraid (of Allah and His Punishment),
اردو ترجمہ:
اور وه ڈر (بھی) رہا ہے.
فَأَنتَ عَنْهُ تَلَهَّىٰ
English Translation:
Of him you are neglectful and divert your attention to another,
اردو ترجمہ:
تو اس سے بےرخی برتتا ہے.
كَلَّا إِنَّهَا تَذْكِرَةٌ
English Translation:
Nay, (do not do like this), indeed it (these Verses of this Quran) are an admonition,
اردو ترجمہ:
یہ ٹھیک نہیں قرآن تو نصیحت (کی چیز) ہے.
فَمَن شَاءَ ذَكَرَهُ
English Translation:
So whoever wills, let him pay attention to it.
اردو ترجمہ:
جو چاہے اس سے نصیحت لے.
فِي صُحُفٍ مُّكَرَّمَةٍ
English Translation:
(It is) in Records held (greatly) in honour (Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz).
اردو ترجمہ:
(یہ تو) پر عظمت صحیفوں میں (ہے).
مَّرْفُوعَةٍ مُّطَهَّرَةٍ
English Translation:
Exalted (in dignity), purified,
اردو ترجمہ:
جو بلند وبالا اور پاک صاف ہے.
بِأَيْدِي سَفَرَةٍ
English Translation:
In the hands of scribes (angels).

ایسے لکھنے والوں کے ہاتھوں میں ہے.
كِرَامٍ بَرَرَةٍ
English Translation:
Honourable and obedient.

جو بزرگ اور پاکباز ہیں.
قُتِلَ الْإِنسَانُ مَا أَكْفَرَهُ
English Translation:
Be cursed (the disbelieving) man! How ungrateful he is!

اللہ کی مار انسان پر کیسا ناشکرا ہے.
مِنْ أَيِّ شَيْءٍ خَلَقَهُ
English Translation:
From what thing did He create him?
اردو ترجمہ:
اسے اللہ نے کس چیز سے پیدا کیا.
مِن نُّطْفَةٍ خَلَقَهُ فَقَدَّرَهُ
English Translation:
From Nutfah (male and female semen drops) He created him, and then set him in due proportion;

اسے) ایک نطفہ سے پیدا کیا،پھراس کا اندازہ مقررکیا .
ثُمَّ السَّبِيلَ يَسَّرَهُ
English Translation:
Then He makes the Path easy for him;
اردو ترجمہ:
پھر اس کے لئے راستہ آسان کیا.
ثُمَّ أَمَاتَهُ فَأَقْبَرَهُ
English Translation:
Then He causes him to die, and puts him in his grave;
اردو ترجمہ:
پھر اسے موت دی اور پھر قبر میں دفن کیا.
ثُمَّ إِذَا شَاءَ أَنشَرَهُ
English Translation:
Then, when it is His Will, He will resurrect him (again).
اردو ترجمہ:
پھر جب چاہے گا اسے زنده کر دے گا.
كَلَّا لَمَّا يَقْضِ مَا أَمَرَهُ
English Translation:
Nay, but (man) has not done what He commanded him.
اردو ترجمہ:
ہرگز نہیں(1) ۔ اس نے اب تک اللہ کے حکم کی بجا آوری نہیں کی.
فَلْيَنظُرِ الْإِنسَانُ إِلَىٰ طَعَامِهِ
English Translation:
Then let man look at his food,
اردو ترجمہ:
انسان کو چاہئے کہ اپنے کھانے کو دیکھے.
أَنَّا صَبَبْنَا الْمَاءَ صَبًّا
English Translation:
That We pour forth water in abundance,
اردو ترجمہ:
کہ ہم نے خوب پانی برسایا.
ثُمَّ شَقَقْنَا الْأَرْضَ شَقًّا
English Translation:
And We split the earth in clefts,
اردو ترجمہ:
پھر پھاڑا زمین کو اچھی طرح.
فَأَنبَتْنَا فِيهَا حَبًّا
English Translation:
And We cause therein the grain to grow,
اردو ترجمہ:
پھر اس میں سے اناج اگائے.
وَعِنَبًا وَقَضْبًا
English Translation:
And grapes and clover plants (i.e. green fodder for the cattle),
اردو ترجمہ:
اور انگور اور ترکاری.
وَزَيْتُونًا وَنَخْلًا
English Translation:
And olives and date-palms,
اردو ترجمہ:
اور زیتون اور کھجور.
وَحَدَائِقَ غُلْبًا
English Translation:
And gardens, dense with many trees,

اور گنجان باغات.
وَفَاكِهَةً وَأَبًّا
English Translation:
And fruits and Abba (herbage, etc.),
اردو ترجمہ:
اور میوه اور (گھاس) چاره (بھی اگایا).
مَّتَاعًا لَّكُمْ وَلِأَنْعَامِكُمْ
English Translation:
(To be) a provision and benefit for you and your cattle.
اردو ترجمہ:
تمہارے استعمال وفائدے کے لئے اور تمہارے چوپایوں کے لئے.
فَإِذَا جَاءَتِ الصَّاخَّةُ
English Translation:
Then, when there comes As-Sakhkhah (the Day of Resurrection's second blowing of Trumpet),

پس جب کہ کان بہرے کر دینے والی (قیامت) آجائے گی.
يَوْمَ يَفِرُّ الْمَرْءُ مِنْ أَخِيهِ
English Translation:
That Day shall a man flee from his brother,
اردو ترجمہ:
اس دن آدمی اپنے بھائی سے.
وَأُمِّهِ وَأَبِيهِ
English Translation:
And from his mother and his father,
اردو ترجمہ:
اور اپنی ماں اور اپنے باپ سے.
وَصَاحِبَتِهِ وَبَنِيهِ
English Translation:
And from his wife and his children.
اردو ترجمہ:
اور اپنی بیوی اور اپنی اولاد سے بھاگے گا.
لِكُلِّ امْرِئٍ مِّنْهُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ شَأْنٌ يُغْنِيهِ
English Translation:
Everyman, that Day, will have enough to make him careless of others.
اردو ترجمہ:
ان میں سے ہر ایک کو اس دن ایسی فکر (دامن گیر) ہوگی جو اس کے لئے کافی ہوگی.
وُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ مُّسْفِرَةٌ
English Translation:
Some faces that Day, will be bright (true believers of Islamic Monotheism).
اردو ترجمہ:
اس دن بہت سے چہرے روشن ہوں گے.
ضَاحِكَةٌ مُّسْتَبْشِرَةٌ
English Translation:
Laughing, rejoicing at good news (of Paradise).
اردو ترجمہ:
(جو) ہنستے ہوئے اور ہشاش بشاش ہوں گے.
وَوُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ عَلَيْهَا غَبَرَةٌ
English Translation:
And other faces, that Day, will be dust-stained;

اور بہت سے چہرے اس دن غبار آلود ہوں گے.
تَرْهَقُهَا قَتَرَةٌ
English Translation:
Darkness will cover them,
اردو ترجمہ:
جن پر سیاہی چڑھی ہوئی ہوگی.
أُولَـٰئِكَ هُمُ الْكَفَرَةُ الْفَجَرَةُ
English Translation:
Such will be the Kafarah (disbelievers in Allah, in His Oneness, and in His Messenger Muhammad (Peace be upon him), etc.), the Fajarah (wicked evil doers).
