حم
English Translation:
Ha-Mim. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Quran, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings.]
اردو ترجمہ:
حٰم.
تَنزِيلٌ مِّنَ الرَّحْمَـٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
English Translation:
A revelation from Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful.
اردو ترجمہ:
اتاری ہوئی ہے بڑے مہربان بہت رحم والے کی طرف سے.(1)
كِتَابٌ فُصِّلَتْ آيَاتُهُ قُرْآنًا عَرَبِيًّا لِّقَوْمٍ يَعْلَمُونَ
English Translation:
A Book whereof the Verses are explained in detail; A Quran in Arabic for people who know.
اردو ترجمہ:
(ایسی) کتاب ہے جس کی آیتوں کی واضح تفصیل کی گئی ہے ، (اس حال میں کہ) قرآن عربی زبان میں ہے اس قوم کے لیے جو جانتی ہے.
بَشِيرًا وَنَذِيرًا فَأَعْرَضَ أَكْثَرُهُمْ فَهُمْ لَا يَسْمَعُونَ
English Translation:
Giving glad tidings [of Paradise to the one who believes in the Oneness of Allah (i.e. Islamic Monotheism) and fears Allah much (abstains from all kinds of sins and evil deeds) and loves Allah much (performing all kinds of good deeds which He has ordained)], and warning (of punishment in the Hell Fire to the one who disbelieves in the Oneness of Allah), but most of them turn away, so they listen not.
اردو ترجمہ:
خوش خبری سنانے والا اور ڈرانے والا ہے، پھر بھی ان کی اکثریت نے منھ پھیر لیا اور وه سنتے ہی نہیں.
وَقَالُوا قُلُوبُنَا فِي أَكِنَّةٍ مِّمَّا تَدْعُونَا إِلَيْهِ وَفِي آذَانِنَا وَقْرٌ وَمِن بَيْنِنَا وَبَيْنِكَ حِجَابٌ فَاعْمَلْ إِنَّنَا عَامِلُونَ
English Translation:
And they say: "Our hearts are under coverings (screened) from that to which you invite us, and in our ears is deafness, and between us and you is a screen, so work you (on your way); verily, we are working (on our way)."
اردو ترجمہ:
اور انہوں نے کہا کہ تو جس کی طرف ہمیں بلا رہا ہے ہمارے دل تو اس سے پردے میں ہیں اور ہمارے کانوں میں گرانی ہے اور ہم میں اور تجھ میں ایک حجاب ہے، اچھا تو اب اپنا کام کیے جا ہم بھی یقیناً کام کرنے والے ہیں.
قُلْ إِنَّمَا أَنَا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُكُمْ يُوحَىٰ إِلَيَّ أَنَّمَا إِلَـٰهُكُمْ إِلَـٰهٌ وَاحِدٌ فَاسْتَقِيمُوا إِلَيْهِ وَاسْتَغْفِرُوهُ ۗ وَوَيْلٌ لِّلْمُشْرِكِينَ
English Translation:
Say (O Muhammad SAW): "I am only a human being like you. It is inspired in me that your Ilah (God) is One Ilah (God - Allah), therefore take Straight Path to Him (with true Faith Islamic Monotheism) and obedience to Him, and seek forgiveness of Him. And woe to Al-Mushrikun (the disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, polytheists, idolaters, etc. - see V. 2:105).
اردو ترجمہ:
آپ کہہ دیجیئے! کہ میں تو تم ہی جیسا انسان ہوں مجھ پر وحی نازل کی جاتی ہے کہ تم سب کا معبود ایک اللہ ہی ہے سو تم اس کی طرف متوجہ ہو جاؤ اور اس سے گناہوں کی معافی چاہو، اور ان مشرکوں کے لیے (بڑی ہی) خرابی ہے.
الَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْتُونَ الزَّكَاةَ وَهُم بِالْآخِرَةِ هُمْ كَافِرُونَ
English Translation:
Those who give not the Zakat and they are disbelievers in the Hereafter.
اردو ترجمہ:
جو زکوٰة نہیں دیتے اورآخرت کے بھی منکر ہی رہتے ہیں.
إِنَّ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ لَهُمْ أَجْرٌ غَيْرُ مَمْنُونٍ
English Translation:
Truly, those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism, and in His Messenger Muhammad SAW) and do righteous good deeds, for them will be an endless reward that will never stop (i.e. Paradise).
اردو ترجمہ:
بیشک جو لوگ ایمان لائیں اور بھلے کام کریں ان کے لیے نہ ختم ہونے والا اجر ہے.
۞ قُلْ أَئِنَّكُمْ لَتَكْفُرُونَ بِالَّذِي خَلَقَ الْأَرْضَ فِي يَوْمَيْنِ وَتَجْعَلُونَ لَهُ أَندَادًا ۚ ذَٰلِكَ رَبُّ الْعَالَمِينَ
English Translation:
Say (O Muhammad SAW): "Do you verily disbelieve in Him Who created the earth in two Days and you set up rivals (in worship) with Him? That is the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists).
اردو ترجمہ:
آپ کہہ دیجئے! کہ کیا تم اس (اللہ) کا انکار کرتے ہو اور تم اس کے شریک مقرر کرتے ہو جس نے دو دن میں زمین پیدا کردی ، سارے جہانوں کا پروردگار وہی ہے.
وَجَعَلَ فِيهَا رَوَاسِيَ مِن فَوْقِهَا وَبَارَكَ فِيهَا وَقَدَّرَ فِيهَا أَقْوَاتَهَا فِي أَرْبَعَةِ أَيَّامٍ سَوَاءً لِّلسَّائِلِينَ
English Translation:
He placed therein (i.e. the earth) firm mountains from above it, and He blessed it, and measured therein its sustenance (for its dwellers) in four Days equal (i.e. all these four 'days' were equal in the length of time), for all those who ask (about its creation).
اردو ترجمہ:
اور اس نے زمین میں اس کے اوپر سے پہاڑ گاڑ دیے اوراس میں برکت رکھ دی اوراس میں (رہنے والوں کی) غذاؤں کی تجویز بھی اسی میں کر دی (صرف) چار دن میں، ضرورت مندوں کے لیے یکساں طور پر.
ثُمَّ اسْتَوَىٰ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ وَهِيَ دُخَانٌ فَقَالَ لَهَا وَلِلْأَرْضِ ائْتِيَا طَوْعًا أَوْ كَرْهًا قَالَتَا أَتَيْنَا طَائِعِينَ
English Translation:
Then He Istawa (rose over) towards the heaven when it was smoke, and said to it and to the earth: "Come both of you willingly or unwillingly." They both said: "We come, willingly."
اردو ترجمہ:
پھر آسمان کی طرف متوجہ ہوا اور وه دھواں (سا) تھا پس اس سے اور زمین سے فرمایا کہ تم دونوں خوشی سے آؤ یا ناخوشی سے دونوں نے عرض کیا ہم بخوشی حاضر ہیں.
فَقَضَاهُنَّ سَبْعَ سَمَاوَاتٍ فِي يَوْمَيْنِ وَأَوْحَىٰ فِي كُلِّ سَمَاءٍ أَمْرَهَا ۚ وَزَيَّنَّا السَّمَاءَ الدُّنْيَا بِمَصَابِيحَ وَحِفْظًا ۚ ذَٰلِكَ تَقْدِيرُ الْعَزِيزِ الْعَلِيمِ
English Translation:
Then He completed and finished from their creation (as) seven heavens in two Days and He made in each heaven its affair. And We adorned the nearest (lowest) heaven with lamps (stars) to be an adornment as well as to guard (from the devils by using them as missiles against the devils). Such is the Decree of Him the All-Mighty, the All-Knower.
اردو ترجمہ:
پس دو دن میں سات آسمان بنا دیئے اور ہر آسمان میں اس کے مناسب احکام کی وحی بھیج دی اور ہم نے آسمان دنیا کو چراغوں سے زینت دی اور نگہبانی کی، یہ تدبیر اللہ غالب و دانا کی ہے.
فَإِنْ أَعْرَضُوا فَقُلْ أَنذَرْتُكُمْ صَاعِقَةً مِّثْلَ صَاعِقَةِ عَادٍ وَثَمُودَ
English Translation:
But if they turn away, then say (O Muhammad SAW): "I have warned you of a Sa'iqah (a destructive awful cry, torment, hit, a thunderbolt) like the Sa'iqah which overtook 'Ad and Thamud (people)."
اردو ترجمہ:
اب بھی یہ روگرداں ہوں تو کہہ دیجئے! کہ میں تمہیں اس کڑک (عذاب آسمانی) سے ڈراتا ہوں جو مثل عادیوں اور ﺛمودیوں کی کڑک ہوگی.
إِذْ جَاءَتْهُمُ الرُّسُلُ مِن بَيْنِ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَمِنْ خَلْفِهِمْ أَلَّا تَعْبُدُوا إِلَّا اللَّهَ ۖ قَالُوا لَوْ شَاءَ رَبُّنَا لَأَنزَلَ مَلَائِكَةً فَإِنَّا بِمَا أُرْسِلْتُم بِهِ كَافِرُونَ
English Translation:
When the Messengers came to them, from before them and behind them (saying): "Worship none but Allah" They said: "If our Lord had so willed, He would surely have sent down the angels. So indeed! We disbelieve in that with which you have been sent."
اردو ترجمہ:
ان کے پاس جب ان کے آگے پیچھے سے پیغمبر آئے کہ تم اللہ کے سوا کسی کی عبادت نہ کرو تو انہوں نے جواب دیا کہ اگر ہمارا پروردگار چاہتا تو فرشتوں کو بھیجتا۔ ہم تو تمہاری رسالت کے بالکل منکر ہیں.
فَأَمَّا عَادٌ فَاسْتَكْبَرُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ بِغَيْرِ الْحَقِّ وَقَالُوا مَنْ أَشَدُّ مِنَّا قُوَّةً ۖ أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا أَنَّ اللَّهَ الَّذِي خَلَقَهُمْ هُوَ أَشَدُّ مِنْهُمْ قُوَّةً ۖ وَكَانُوا بِآيَاتِنَا يَجْحَدُونَ
English Translation:
As for 'Ad, they were arrogant in the land without right, and they said: "Who is mightier than us in strength?" See they not that Allah, Who created them was mightier in strength than them. And they used to deny Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, revelations, etc.)!
اردو ترجمہ:
اب عاد نے تو بے وجہ زمین میں سرکشی شروع کر دی اور کہنے لگے کہ ہم سے زور آور کون ہے ؟ کیا انہیں یہ نظر نہ آیا کہ جس نے انہیں پیدا کیا ہے وه ان سے (بہت ہی) زیاده زور آور ہے، وه (آخر تک) ہماری آیتوں کا انکار ہی کرتے رہے.
فَأَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ رِيحًا صَرْصَرًا فِي أَيَّامٍ نَّحِسَاتٍ لِّنُذِيقَهُمْ عَذَابَ الْخِزْيِ فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا ۖ وَلَعَذَابُ الْآخِرَةِ أَخْزَىٰ ۖ وَهُمْ لَا يُنصَرُونَ
English Translation:
So We sent upon them furious wind in days of evil omen (for them) that We might give them a taste of disgracing torment in this present worldly life, but surely the torment of the Hereafter will be more disgracing, and they will never be helped.
اردو ترجمہ:
بالﺂخر ہم نے ان پر ایک تیز و تند آندھی منحوس دنوں میں بھیج دی کہ انہیں دنیاوی زندگی میں ذلت کے عذاب کامزه چکھا دیں، اور (یقین مانو) کہ آخرت کا عذاب اس سے بہت زیاده رسوائی والا ہے اور وه مدد نہیں کیے جائیں گے.
وَأَمَّا ثَمُودُ فَهَدَيْنَاهُمْ فَاسْتَحَبُّوا الْعَمَىٰ عَلَى الْهُدَىٰ فَأَخَذَتْهُمْ صَاعِقَةُ الْعَذَابِ الْهُونِ بِمَا كَانُوا يَكْسِبُونَ
English Translation:
And as for Thamud, We showed and made clear to them the Path of Truth (Islamic Monotheism) through Our Messenger, (i.e. showed them the way of success), but they preferred blindness to guidance, so the Sa'iqah (a destructive awful cry, torment, hit, a thunderbolt) of disgracing torment seized them, because of what they used to earn.
اردو ترجمہ:
رہے ﺛمود، سو ہم نے ان کی بھی رہبری کی پھر بھی انہوں نے ہدایت پر اندھے پن کو ترجیح دی جس بنا پر انہیں (سراپا) ذلت کے عذاب، کی کڑک نے ان کے کرتوتوں کے باعﺚ پکڑ لیا.
وَنَجَّيْنَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَكَانُوا يَتَّقُونَ
English Translation:
And We saved those who believed and used to fear Allah, keep their duty to Him and avoid evil.
اردو ترجمہ:
اور (ہاں) ایماندار اور پارساؤں کو ہم نے (بال بال) بچا لیا.
وَيَوْمَ يُحْشَرُ أَعْدَاءُ اللَّهِ إِلَى النَّارِ فَهُمْ يُوزَعُونَ
English Translation:
And (remember) the Day that the enemies of Allah will be gathered to the Fire, so they will be collected there (the first and the last).
اردو ترجمہ:
اور جس دن اللہ کے دشمن دوزخ کی طرف لائے جائیں گے اور ان (سب) کو جمع کر دیا جائے گا.
حَتَّىٰ إِذَا مَا جَاءُوهَا شَهِدَ عَلَيْهِمْ سَمْعُهُمْ وَأَبْصَارُهُمْ وَجُلُودُهُم بِمَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ
English Translation:
Till, when they reach it (Hell-fire), their hearing (ears) and their eyes, and their skins will testify against them as to what they used to do.
اردو ترجمہ:
یہاں تک کہ جب بالکل جہنم کےپاس آجائیں گے اور ان پر ان کے کان اور ان کی آنکھیں اور ان کی کھالیں ان کے اعمال کی گواہی دیں گی.
وَقَالُوا لِجُلُودِهِمْ لِمَ شَهِدتُّمْ عَلَيْنَا ۖ قَالُوا أَنطَقَنَا اللَّهُ الَّذِي أَنطَقَ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ وَهُوَ خَلَقَكُمْ أَوَّلَ مَرَّةٍ وَإِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَ
English Translation:
And they will say to their skins, "Why do you testify against us?" They will say: "Allah has caused us to speak, as He causes all things to speak, and He created you the first time, and to Him you are made to return."
اردو ترجمہ:
یہ اپنی کھالوں سے کہیں گے کہ تم نے ہمارے خلاف شہادت کیوں دی ، وه جواب دیں گی کہ ہمیں اس اللہ نے قوت گویائی عطا فرمائی جس نے ہر چیز کو بولنے کی طاقت بخشی ہے، اسی نے تمہیں اول مرتبہ پیدا کیا اور اسی کی طرف تم سب لوٹائے جاؤ گے.
وَمَا كُنتُمْ تَسْتَتِرُونَ أَن يَشْهَدَ عَلَيْكُمْ سَمْعُكُمْ وَلَا أَبْصَارُكُمْ وَلَا جُلُودُكُمْ وَلَـٰكِن ظَنَنتُمْ أَنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يَعْلَمُ كَثِيرًا مِّمَّا تَعْمَلُونَ
English Translation:
And you have not been hiding against yourselves, lest your ears, and your eyes, and your skins testify against you, but you thought that Allah knew not much of what you were doing.
اردو ترجمہ:
اور تم (اپنی بداعمالیاں) اس وجہ سے پوشیده رکھتے ہی نہ تھے کہ تم پر تمہارے کان اور تمہاری آنکھیں اور تمہاری کھالیں گواہی دیں گی ، ہاں تم یہ سمجھتے رہے کہ تم جو کچھ بھی کر رہے ہو اس میں سے بہت سےاعمال سے اللہ بےخبر ہے.
وَذَٰلِكُمْ ظَنُّكُمُ الَّذِي ظَنَنتُم بِرَبِّكُمْ أَرْدَاكُمْ فَأَصْبَحْتُم مِّنَ الْخَاسِرِينَ
English Translation:
And that thought of yours which you thought about your Lord, has brought you to destruction, and you have become (this Day) of those utterly lost!
اردو ترجمہ:
تمہاری اسی بدگمانی نےجو تم نے اپنے رب سے کر رکھی تھی تمہیں ہلاک کر دیا اور بالﺂخر تم زیاں کاروں میں ہو گئے.
فَإِن يَصْبِرُوا فَالنَّارُ مَثْوًى لَّهُمْ ۖ وَإِن يَسْتَعْتِبُوا فَمَا هُم مِّنَ الْمُعْتَبِينَ
English Translation:
Then, if they have patience, yet the Fire will be a home for them, and if they beg for to be excused, yet they are not of those who will ever be excused.
اردو ترجمہ:
اب اگر یہ صبر کریں تو بھی ان کا ٹھکانا جہنم ہی ہے۔ اور اگر یہ (عذر اور) معافی کےخواستگار ہوں تو بھی (معذور اور) معاف نہیں رکھے جائیں گے.
۞ وَقَيَّضْنَا لَهُمْ قُرَنَاءَ فَزَيَّنُوا لَهُم مَّا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَمَا خَلْفَهُمْ وَحَقَّ عَلَيْهِمُ الْقَوْلُ فِي أُمَمٍ قَدْ خَلَتْ مِن قَبْلِهِم مِّنَ الْجِنِّ وَالْإِنسِ ۖ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا خَاسِرِينَ
English Translation:
And We have assigned them (devils) intimate companions (in this world), who have made fair-seeming to them, what was before them (evil deeds which they were doing in the present worldly life and disbelief in the Reckoning and the Resurrection, etc.) and what was behind them (denial of the matters in the coming life of the Hereafter as regards punishment or reward, etc.). And the Word (i.e. the torment) is justified against them as it was justified against those who were among the previous generations of jinns and men that had passed away before them. Indeed they (all) were the losers.
اردو ترجمہ:
اور ہم نے ان کے کچھ ہم نشیں مقرر کر رکھے تھے، جنہوں نے ان کے اگلے پچھلے اعمال ان کی نگاہوں میں خوبصورت بنا رکھے تھے اور ان کے حق میں بھی اللہ کا قول ان امتوں کے ساتھ پورا ہوا جو ان سے پہلے جنوں انسانوں کی گزر چکی ہیں۔ یقیناً وه زیاں کار ﺛابت ہوئے.
وَقَالَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لَا تَسْمَعُوا لِهَـٰذَا الْقُرْآنِ وَالْغَوْا فِيهِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَغْلِبُونَ
English Translation:
And those who disbelieve say: "Listen not to this Quran, and make noise in the midst of its (recitation) that you may overcome."
اردو ترجمہ:
اور کافروں نے کہا اس قرآن کو سنو ہی مت (اس کے پڑھے جانے کے وقت) اور بیہوده گوئی کرو کیا عجب کہ تم غالب آجاؤ.
فَلَنُذِيقَنَّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا عَذَابًا شَدِيدًا وَلَنَجْزِيَنَّهُمْ أَسْوَأَ الَّذِي كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ
English Translation:
But surely, We shall cause those who disbelieve to taste a severe torment, and certainly, We shall requite them the worst of what they used to do.
اردو ترجمہ:
پس یقیناً ہم ان کافروں کو سخت عذاب کا مزه چکھائیں گے۔ اور انہیں ان کے بدترین اعمال کا بدلہ (ضرور) ضرور دیں گے.
ذَٰلِكَ جَزَاءُ أَعْدَاءِ اللَّهِ النَّارُ ۖ لَهُمْ فِيهَا دَارُ الْخُلْدِ ۖ جَزَاءً بِمَا كَانُوا بِآيَاتِنَا يَجْحَدُونَ
English Translation:
That is the recompense of the enemies of Allah: The Fire, therein will be for them the eternal home, a (deserving) recompense for that they used to deny Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.).
اردو ترجمہ:
اللہ کے دشمنوں کی سزا یہی دوزح کی آگ ہے جس میں ان کا ہمیشگی کا گھر ہے (یہ) بدلہ ہے ہماری آیتوں سے انکار کرنے کا.
وَقَالَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا رَبَّنَا أَرِنَا اللَّذَيْنِ أَضَلَّانَا مِنَ الْجِنِّ وَالْإِنسِ نَجْعَلْهُمَا تَحْتَ أَقْدَامِنَا لِيَكُونَا مِنَ الْأَسْفَلِينَ
English Translation:
And those who disbelieve will say: "Our Lord! Show us those among jinns and men who led us astray, we shall crush them under our feet, so that they become the lowest."
اردو ترجمہ:
اور کافر لوگ کہیں گے اے ہمارے رب! ہمیں جنوں انسانوں (کے وه دونوں فریق) دکھا جنہوں نے ہمیں گمراه کیا (تاکہ) ہم انہیں اپنے قدموں تلے ڈال دیں تاکہ وه جہنم میں سب سے نیچے (سخت عذاب میں) ہو جائیں.
إِنَّ الَّذِينَ قَالُوا رَبُّنَا اللَّهُ ثُمَّ اسْتَقَامُوا تَتَنَزَّلُ عَلَيْهِمُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ أَلَّا تَخَافُوا وَلَا تَحْزَنُوا وَأَبْشِرُوا بِالْجَنَّةِ الَّتِي كُنتُمْ تُوعَدُونَ
English Translation:
Verily, those who say: "Our Lord is Allah (Alone)," and then they Istaqamu, on them the angels will descend (at the time of their death) (saying): "Fear not, nor grieve! But receive the glad tidings of Paradise which you have been promised!
اردو ترجمہ:
(واقعی) جن لوگوں نے کہا کہ ہمارا پروردگار اللہ ہے پھر اسی پر قائم رہے ان کے پاس فرشتے (یہ کہتے ہوئے آتے ہیں کہ تم کچھ بھی اندیشہ اور غم نہ کرو (بلکہ) اس جنت کی بشارت سن لو جس کا تم وعده دیئے گئے ہو.
نَحْنُ أَوْلِيَاؤُكُمْ فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ ۖ وَلَكُمْ فِيهَا مَا تَشْتَهِي أَنفُسُكُمْ وَلَكُمْ فِيهَا مَا تَدَّعُونَ
English Translation:
"We have been your friends in the life of this world and are (so) in the Hereafter. Therein you shall have (all) that your inner-selves desire, and therein you shall have (all) for which you ask for.
اردو ترجمہ:
تمہاری دنیوی زندگی میں بھی ہم تمہارے رفیق تھے اور آخرت میں بھی رہیں گے ، جس چیز کو تمہارا جی چاہے اور جو کچھ تم مانگو سب تمہارے لیے (جنت میں موجود﴾ ہے.
نُزُلًا مِّنْ غَفُورٍ رَّحِيمٍ
English Translation:
"An entertainment from (Allah), the Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful."
اردو ترجمہ:
غفور و رحیم (معبود) کی طرف سے یہ سب کچھ بطور مہمانی کے ہے.
وَمَنْ أَحْسَنُ قَوْلًا مِّمَّن دَعَا إِلَى اللَّهِ وَعَمِلَ صَالِحًا وَقَالَ إِنَّنِي مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ
English Translation:
And who is better in speech than he who [says: "My Lord is Allah (believes in His Oneness)," and then stands straight (acts upon His Order), and] invites (men) to Allah's (Islamic Monotheism), and does righteous deeds, and says: "I am one of the Muslims."
اردو ترجمہ:
اور اس سے زیاده اچھی بات والا کون ہے جو اللہ کی طرف بلائے اور نیک کام کرے اور کہے کہ میں یقیناً مسلمانوں میں سے ہوں.
وَلَا تَسْتَوِي الْحَسَنَةُ وَلَا السَّيِّئَةُ ۚ ادْفَعْ بِالَّتِي هِيَ أَحْسَنُ فَإِذَا الَّذِي بَيْنَكَ وَبَيْنَهُ عَدَاوَةٌ كَأَنَّهُ وَلِيٌّ حَمِيمٌ
English Translation:
The good deed and the evil deed cannot be equal. Repel (the evil) with one which is better (i.e. Allah ordered the faithful believers to be patient at the time of anger, and to excuse those who treat them badly), then verily! he, between whom and you there was enmity, (will become) as though he was a close friend.
اردو ترجمہ:
نیکی اور بدی برابر نہیں ہوتی ۔ برائی کو بھلائی سے دفع کرو پھر وہی جس کے اور تمہارے درمیان دشمنی ہے ایسا ہو جائے گا جیسے دلی دوست.
وَمَا يُلَقَّاهَا إِلَّا الَّذِينَ صَبَرُوا وَمَا يُلَقَّاهَا إِلَّا ذُو حَظٍّ عَظِيمٍ
English Translation:
But none is granted it (the above quality) except those who are patient, and none is granted it except the owner of the great portion (of the happiness in the Hereafter i.e. Paradise and in this world of a high moral character).
اردو ترجمہ:
اور یہ بات انہیں کو نصیب ہوتی ہے جو صبر کریں اور اسے سوائے بڑے نصیبے والوں کے کوئی نہیں پا سکتا.
وَإِمَّا يَنزَغَنَّكَ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ نَزْغٌ فَاسْتَعِذْ بِاللَّهِ ۖ إِنَّهُ هُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ
English Translation:
And if an evil whisper from Shaitan (Satan) tries to turn you away (O Muhammad SAW) (from doing good, etc.), then seek refuge in Allah. Verily, He is the All-Hearer, the All-Knower.
اردو ترجمہ:
اور اگر شیطان کی طرف سے کوئی وسوسہ آئے تو اللہ کی پناه طلب کرو یقیناً وه بہت ہی سننے والا اور جاننے والا ہے.
وَمِنْ آيَاتِهِ اللَّيْلُ وَالنَّهَارُ وَالشَّمْسُ وَالْقَمَرُ ۚ لَا تَسْجُدُوا لِلشَّمْسِ وَلَا لِلْقَمَرِ وَاسْجُدُوا لِلَّهِ الَّذِي خَلَقَهُنَّ إِن كُنتُمْ إِيَّاهُ تَعْبُدُونَ
English Translation:
And from among His Signs are the night and the day, and the sun and the moon. Prostrate not to the sun nor to the moon, but prostrate to Allah Who created them, if you (really) worship Him.
اردو ترجمہ:
اور دن رات اور سورج چاند بھی (اسی کی) نشانیوں میں سے ہیں ، تم سورج کو سجده نہ کرو نہ چاند کو بلکہ سجده اس اللہ کے لیے کرو جس نے ان سب کو پیدا کیا ہے، اگر تمہیں اس کی عبادت کرنی ہے تو.
فَإِنِ اسْتَكْبَرُوا فَالَّذِينَ عِندَ رَبِّكَ يُسَبِّحُونَ لَهُ بِاللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ وَهُمْ لَا يَسْأَمُونَ ۩
English Translation:
But if they are too proud (to do so), then there are those who are with your Lord (angels) glorify Him night and day, and never are they tired.
اردو ترجمہ:
پھر بھی اگر یہ کبر و غرور کریں تو وه (فرشتے) جو آپ کے رب کے نزدیک ہیں وه تو رات دن اس کی تسبیح بیان کر رہے ہیں اور (کسی وقت بھی) نہیں اکتاتے.
وَمِنْ آيَاتِهِ أَنَّكَ تَرَى الْأَرْضَ خَاشِعَةً فَإِذَا أَنزَلْنَا عَلَيْهَا الْمَاءَ اهْتَزَّتْ وَرَبَتْ ۚ إِنَّ الَّذِي أَحْيَاهَا لَمُحْيِي الْمَوْتَىٰ ۚ إِنَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ
English Translation:
And among His Signs (in this), that you see the earth barren, but when We send down water (rain) to it, it is stirred to life and growth (of vegetations). Verily, He Who gives it life, surely, (He) is Able to give life to the dead (on the Day of Resurrection). Indeed! He is Able to do all things.
اردو ترجمہ:
اس اللہ کی نشانیوں میں سے (یہ بھی) ہے کہ تو زمین کو دبی دبائی دیکھتا ہے پھر جب ہم اس پر مینہ برساتے ہیں تو وه تر وتازه ہوکر ابھرنے لگتی ہے جس نے اسے زنده کیا وہی یقینی طور پر مُردوں کو بھی زنده کرنے والا ہے، بیشک وه ہر (ہر) چیز پر قادر ہے.
إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يُلْحِدُونَ فِي آيَاتِنَا لَا يَخْفَوْنَ عَلَيْنَا ۗ أَفَمَن يُلْقَىٰ فِي النَّارِ خَيْرٌ أَم مَّن يَأْتِي آمِنًا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ۚ اعْمَلُوا مَا شِئْتُمْ ۖ إِنَّهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ بَصِيرٌ
English Translation:
Verily, those who turn away from Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc. by attacking, distorting and denying them), are not hidden from Us. Is he who is cast into the Fire better or he who comes secure on the Day of Resurrection? Do what you will. Verily! He is All-Seer of what you do (this is a severe threat to the disbelievers).
اردو ترجمہ:
بیشک جو لوگ ہماری آیتوں میں کج روی کرتے ہیں وه (کچھ) ہم سے مخفی نہیں، (بتلاؤ تو) جو آگ میں ڈالا جائے وه اچھا ہے یا وه جو امن و امان کے ساتھ قیامت کے دن آئے؟ تم جو چاہو کرتے چلے جاؤ وه تمہارا سب کیا کرایا دیکھ رہا ہے.
إِنَّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا بِالذِّكْرِ لَمَّا جَاءَهُمْ ۖ وَإِنَّهُ لَكِتَابٌ عَزِيزٌ
English Translation:
Verily, those who disbelieved in the Reminder (i.e. the Quran) when it came to them (shall receive the punishment). And verily, it is an honourable respected Book (because it is Allah's Speech, and He has protected it from corruption, etc.). (See V. 15:9]
اردو ترجمہ:
جن لوگوں نے اپنے پاس قرآن پہنچ جانے کے باوجود اس سے کفر کیا، (وه بھی ہم سے پوشیده نہیں) یہ بڑی باوقعت کتاب ہے.
لَّا يَأْتِيهِ الْبَاطِلُ مِن بَيْنِ يَدَيْهِ وَلَا مِنْ خَلْفِهِ ۖ تَنزِيلٌ مِّنْ حَكِيمٍ حَمِيدٍ
English Translation:
Falsehood cannot come to it from before it or behind it (it is) sent down by the All-Wise, Worthy of all praise (Allah).
اردو ترجمہ:
جس کے پاس باطل پھٹک بھی نہیں سکتا نہ اس کے آگے سے نہ اس کے پیچھے سے، یہ ہے نازل کرده حکمتوں والے خوبیوں والے (اللہ) کی طرف سے.
مَّا يُقَالُ لَكَ إِلَّا مَا قَدْ قِيلَ لِلرُّسُلِ مِن قَبْلِكَ ۚ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَذُو مَغْفِرَةٍ وَذُو عِقَابٍ أَلِيمٍ
English Translation:
Nothing is said to you (O Muhammad SAW) except what was said to the Messengers before you. Verily, your Lord is the Possessor of forgiveness, and (also) the Possessor of painful punishment.
اردو ترجمہ:
آپ سے وہی کہا جاتا ہے جو آپ سے پہلے کے رسولوں سے بھی کہا گیا ہے ، یقیناً آپ کا رب معافی والا اور دردناک عذاب والا ہے.
وَلَوْ جَعَلْنَاهُ قُرْآنًا أَعْجَمِيًّا لَّقَالُوا لَوْلَا فُصِّلَتْ آيَاتُهُ ۖ أَأَعْجَمِيٌّ وَعَرَبِيٌّ ۗ قُلْ هُوَ لِلَّذِينَ آمَنُوا هُدًى وَشِفَاءٌ ۖ وَالَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ فِي آذَانِهِمْ وَقْرٌ وَهُوَ عَلَيْهِمْ عَمًى ۚ أُولَـٰئِكَ يُنَادَوْنَ مِن مَّكَانٍ بَعِيدٍ
English Translation:
And if We had sent this as a Quran in a foreign language other than Arabic, they would have said: "Why are not its Verses explained in detail (in our language)? What! (A Book) not in Arabic and (the Messenger) an Arab?" Say: "It is for those who believe, a guide and a healing. And as for those who disbelieve, there is heaviness (deafness) in their ears, and it (the Quran) is blindness for them. They are those who are called from a place far away (so they neither listen nor understand).
اردو ترجمہ:
اور اگر ہم اسے عجمی زبان کا قرآن بناتے تو کہتے کہ اس کی آیتیں صاف صاف بیان کیوں نہیں کی گئیں؟ یہ کیا کہ عجمی کتاب اور آپ عربی رسول؟ آپ کہہ دیجئے! کہ یہ تو ایمان والوں کے لیے ہدایت و شفا ہے اور جو ایمان نہیں لاتے ان کے کانوں میں تو (بہراپن اور) بوجھ ہے اور یہ ان پر اندھاپن ہے، یہ وه لوگ ہیں جو کسی بہت دور دراز جگہ سے پکارے جا رہے ہیں.
وَلَقَدْ آتَيْنَا مُوسَى الْكِتَابَ فَاخْتُلِفَ فِيهِ ۗ وَلَوْلَا كَلِمَةٌ سَبَقَتْ مِن رَّبِّكَ لَقُضِيَ بَيْنَهُمْ ۚ وَإِنَّهُمْ لَفِي شَكٍّ مِّنْهُ مُرِيبٍ
English Translation:
And indeed We gave Musa (Moses) the Scripture, but dispute arose therein. And had it not been for a Word that went forth before from your Lord, (the torment would have overtaken them) and the matter would have been settled between them. But truly, they are in grave doubt thereto (i.e. about the Quran). [Tafsir Al-Qurtubi, Vol. 15, Page 370]
اردو ترجمہ:
یقیناً ہم نے موسیٰ (علیہ السلام) کو کتاب دی تھی، سو اس میں بھی اختلاف کیا گیا اور اگر (وه) بات نہ ہوتی (جو) آپ کے رب کی طرف سے پہلے ہی مقرر ہو چکی ہے ۔ توان کے درمیان (کبھی کا) فیصلہ ہو چکا ہوتا، یہ لوگ تو اس کے بارے میں سخت بےچین کرنے والے شک میں ہیں.
مَّنْ عَمِلَ صَالِحًا فَلِنَفْسِهِ ۖ وَمَنْ أَسَاءَ فَعَلَيْهَا ۗ وَمَا رَبُّكَ بِظَلَّامٍ لِّلْعَبِيدِ
English Translation:
Whosoever does righteous good deed it is for (the benefit of) his ownself, and whosoever does evil, it is against his ownself, and your Lord is not at all unjust to (His) slaves.
اردو ترجمہ:
جو شخص نیک کام کرے گا وه اپنے نفع کے لیے اور جو برا کام کرے گا اس کا وبال اسی پر ہے۔ اور آپ کا رب بندوں پر ظلم کرنے والا نہیں.
۞ إِلَيْهِ يُرَدُّ عِلْمُ السَّاعَةِ ۚ وَمَا تَخْرُجُ مِن ثَمَرَاتٍ مِّنْ أَكْمَامِهَا وَمَا تَحْمِلُ مِنْ أُنثَىٰ وَلَا تَضَعُ إِلَّا بِعِلْمِهِ ۚ وَيَوْمَ يُنَادِيهِمْ أَيْنَ شُرَكَائِي قَالُوا آذَنَّاكَ مَا مِنَّا مِن شَهِيدٍ
English Translation:
(The learned men) refer to Him (Alone) the knowledge of the Hour. No fruit comes out of its sheath, nor does a female conceive (within her womb), nor brings forth (young), except by His Knowledge. And on the Day when He will call unto them (polytheists) (saying): "Where are My (so-called) partners (whom you did invent)?" They will say: "We inform You that none of us bears witness to it (that they are Your partners)!"
اردو ترجمہ:
قیامت کا علم اللہ ہی کی طرف لوٹایا جاتا ہے اور جو جو پھل اپنے شگوفوں میں سے نکلتے ہیں اور جو ماده حمل سے ہوتی ہے اور جو بچے وه جنتی ہے سب کا علم اسے ہے اور جس دن اللہ تعالیٰ ان (مشرکوں) کو بلا کر دریافت فرمائے گا میرے شریک کہاں ہیں، وه جواب دیں گے کہ ہم نے تو تجھے کہہ سنایا کہ ہم میں سے تو کوئی اس کا گواه نہیں.
وَضَلَّ عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُوا يَدْعُونَ مِن قَبْلُ ۖ وَظَنُّوا مَا لَهُم مِّن مَّحِيصٍ
English Translation:
And those whom they used to invoke before will fail them, and they will perceive that they have no place of refuge (from Allah's punishment).
اردو ترجمہ:
اور یہ جن (جن) کی پرستش اس سے پہلے کرتے تھے وه ان کی نگاه سے گم ہوگئے اور انہوں نے سمجھ لیا کہ اب ان کے لیے کوئی بچاؤ نہیں.
لَّا يَسْأَمُ الْإِنسَانُ مِن دُعَاءِ الْخَيْرِ وَإِن مَّسَّهُ الشَّرُّ فَيَئُوسٌ قَنُوطٌ
English Translation:
Man (the disbeliever) does not get tired of asking good (things from Allah), but if an evil touches him, then he gives up all hope and is lost in despair.
اردو ترجمہ:
بھلائی کے مانگنے سے انسان تھکتا نہیں اور اگر اسے کوئی تکلیف پہنچ جائے تو مایوس اور ناامید ہو جاتا ہے.
وَلَئِنْ أَذَقْنَاهُ رَحْمَةً مِّنَّا مِن بَعْدِ ضَرَّاءَ مَسَّتْهُ لَيَقُولَنَّ هَـٰذَا لِي وَمَا أَظُنُّ السَّاعَةَ قَائِمَةً وَلَئِن رُّجِعْتُ إِلَىٰ رَبِّي إِنَّ لِي عِندَهُ لَلْحُسْنَىٰ ۚ فَلَنُنَبِّئَنَّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا بِمَا عَمِلُوا وَلَنُذِيقَنَّهُم مِّنْ عَذَابٍ غَلِيظٍ
English Translation:
And truly, if We give him a taste of mercy from us, after some adversity (severe poverty or disease, etc.) has touched him, he is sure to say: "This is for me (due to my merit), I think not that the Hour will be established. But if I am brought back to my Lord, Surely, there will be for me the best (wealth, etc.) with Him. Then, We verily, will show to the disbelievers what they have done and We shall make them taste a severe torment.
اردو ترجمہ:
اور جو مصیبت اسے پہنچ چکی ہے اس کے بعد اگر ہم اسے کسی رحمت کا مزه چکھائیں تو وه کہہ اٹھتا ہے کہ اس کا تو میں حقدار ہی تھا اور میں تو خیال نہیں کرسکتا کہ قیامت قائم ہوگی اور اگر میں اپنے رب کے پاس واپس کیا گیا تو بھی یقیناً میرے لیے اس کے پاس بھی بہتری ہے، یقیناً ہم ان کفار کو ان کے اعمال سے خبردار کریں گے اور انہیں سخت عذاب کا مزه چکھائیں گے.
وَإِذَا أَنْعَمْنَا عَلَى الْإِنسَانِ أَعْرَضَ وَنَأَىٰ بِجَانِبِهِ وَإِذَا مَسَّهُ الشَّرُّ فَذُو دُعَاءٍ عَرِيضٍ
English Translation:
And when We show favour to man, he withdraws and turns away, but when evil touches him, then he has recourse to long supplications.
اردو ترجمہ:
اور جب ہم انسان پر اپنا انعام کرتے ہیں تو وه منھ پھیر لیتا ہے اور کناره کش ہوجاتا ہے اور جب اسے مصیبت پڑتی ہے تو بڑی لمبی چوڑی دعائیں کرنے والا بن جاتا ہے.
قُلْ أَرَأَيْتُمْ إِن كَانَ مِنْ عِندِ اللَّهِ ثُمَّ كَفَرْتُم بِهِ مَنْ أَضَلُّ مِمَّنْ هُوَ فِي شِقَاقٍ بَعِيدٍ
English Translation:
Say: "Tell me, if it (the Quran) is from Allah, and you disbelieve in it, who is more astray than one who is in opposition far away (from Allah's Right Path and His obedience).
اردو ترجمہ:
آپ کہہ دیجئے! کہ بھلا یہ تو بتاؤ کہ اگر یہ قرآن اللہ کی طرف سے آیا ہوا ہو پھر تم نے اسے نہ مانا بس اس سے بڑھ کر بہکا ہوا کون ہوگا جو مخالفت میں (حق سے) دور چلا جائے.
سَنُرِيهِمْ آيَاتِنَا فِي الْآفَاقِ وَفِي أَنفُسِهِمْ حَتَّىٰ يَتَبَيَّنَ لَهُمْ أَنَّهُ الْحَقُّ ۗ أَوَلَمْ يَكْفِ بِرَبِّكَ أَنَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ شَهِيدٌ
English Translation:
We will show them Our Signs in the universe, and in their ownselves, until it becomes manifest to them that this (the Quran) is the truth. Is it not sufficient in regard to your Lord that He is a Witness over all things?
اردو ترجمہ:
عنقریب ہم انہیں اپنی نشانیاں آفاق عالم میں بھی دکھائیں گے اور خود ان کی اپنی ذات میں بھی یہاں تک کہ ان پر کھل جائے کہ حق یہی ہے ، کیا آپ کے رب کا ہر چیز سے واقف و آگاه ہونا کافی نہیں.
أَلَا إِنَّهُمْ فِي مِرْيَةٍ مِّن لِّقَاءِ رَبِّهِمْ ۗ أَلَا إِنَّهُ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ مُّحِيطٌ
English Translation:
Verily! They are in doubt concerning the Meeting with their Lord? (i.e. Resurrection after their deaths, and their return to their Lord). Verily! He it is Who is surrounding all things!
اردو ترجمہ:
یقین جانو! کہ یہ لوگ اپنے رب کے روبرو جانے سے شک میں ہیں ، یاد رکھو کہ اللہ تعالیٰ ہر چیز کا احاطہ کیے ہوئے ہے.
