99 Verses • Meccan Revelation
الر ۚ تِلْكَ آيَاتُ الْكِتَابِ وَقُرْآنٍ مُّبِينٍ
English Translation:
Alif-Lam-Ra. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Quran, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings]. These are the Verses of the Book, and a plain Quran.
اردو ترجمہ:
الرٰ، یہ کتاب الٰہی کی آیتیں ہیں اور کھلے اور روشن قرآن کی.
رُّبَمَا يَوَدُّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لَوْ كَانُوا مُسْلِمِينَ
English Translation:
Perhaps (often) will those who disbelieve wish that they were Muslims [those who have submitted themselves to Allah's Will in Islam Islamic Monotheism, this will be on the Day of Resurrection when they will see the disbelievers going to Hell and the Muslims going to Paradise].
اردو ترجمہ:
وه بھی وقت ہوگا کہ کافر اپنے مسلمان ہونے کی آرزو کریں گے.
ذَرْهُمْ يَأْكُلُوا وَيَتَمَتَّعُوا وَيُلْهِهِمُ الْأَمَلُ ۖ فَسَوْفَ يَعْلَمُونَ
English Translation:
Leave them to eat and enjoy, and let them be preoccupied with (false) hope. They will come to know!
اردو ترجمہ:
آپ انہیں کھاتا، نفع اٹھاتا اور (جھوٹی) امیدوں میں مشغول ہوتا چھوڑ دیجئے عنقریب یہ خود جان لیں گے.
وَمَا أَهْلَكْنَا مِن قَرْيَةٍ إِلَّا وَلَهَا كِتَابٌ مَّعْلُومٌ
English Translation:
And never did We destroy a township but there was a known decree for it.
اردو ترجمہ:
کسی بستی کو ہم نے ہلاک نہیں کیا مگر یہ کہ اس کے لیے مقرره نوشتہ تھا.
مَّا تَسْبِقُ مِنْ أُمَّةٍ أَجَلَهَا وَمَا يَسْتَأْخِرُونَ
English Translation:
No nation can anticipate its term, nor delay it.
اردو ترجمہ:
کوئی گروه اپنی موت سے نہ آگے بڑھتا ہے نہ پیچھے رہتا ہے.
وَقَالُوا يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِي نُزِّلَ عَلَيْهِ الذِّكْرُ إِنَّكَ لَمَجْنُونٌ
English Translation:
And they say: "O you (Muhammad SAW) to whom the Dhikr (the Quran) has been sent down! Verily, you are a mad man.
اردو ترجمہ:
انہوں نے کہا کہ اے وه شخص جس پر قرآن اتارا گیا ہے یقیناً تو تو کوئی دیوانہ ہے.
لَّوْ مَا تَأْتِينَا بِالْمَلَائِكَةِ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ الصَّادِقِينَ
English Translation:
"Why do you not bring angels to us if you are of the truthful ones?"
اردو ترجمہ:
اگر تو سچا ہی ہے تو ہمارے پاس فرشتوں کو کیوں نہیں لاتا.
مَا نُنَزِّلُ الْمَلَائِكَةَ إِلَّا بِالْحَقِّ وَمَا كَانُوا إِذًا مُّنظَرِينَ
English Translation:
We send not the angels down except with the truth (i.e. for torment, etc.), and in that case, they (the disbelievers) would have no respite!
اردو ترجمہ:
ہم فرشتوں کو حق کے ساتھ ہی اتارتے ہیں اور اس وقت وه مہلت دیئے گئے نہیں ہوتے.
إِنَّا نَحْنُ نَزَّلْنَا الذِّكْرَ وَإِنَّا لَهُ لَحَافِظُونَ
English Translation:
Verily We: It is We Who have sent down the Dhikr (i.e. the Quran) and surely, We will guard it (from corruption).
اردو ترجمہ:
ہم نے ہی اس قرآن کو نازل فرمایا ہے اور ہم ہی اس کے محافﻆ ہیں.
وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا مِن قَبْلِكَ فِي شِيَعِ الْأَوَّلِينَ
English Translation:
Indeed, We sent Messengers before you (O Muhammad SAW) amongst the sects (communities) of old.
اردو ترجمہ:
ہم نے آپ سے پہلے اگلی امتوں میں بھی اپنے رسول (برابر) بھیجے.
وَمَا يَأْتِيهِم مِّن رَّسُولٍ إِلَّا كَانُوا بِهِ يَسْتَهْزِئُونَ
English Translation:
And never came a Messenger to them but they did mock him.
اردو ترجمہ:
اور (لیکن) جو بھی رسول آتا وه اس کا مذاق اڑاتے.
كَذَٰلِكَ نَسْلُكُهُ فِي قُلُوبِ الْمُجْرِمِينَ
English Translation:
Thus do We let it (polytheism and disbelief) enter into the hearts of the Mujrimun [criminals, polytheists, pagans, etc. (because of their mockery at the Messengers)].
اردو ترجمہ:
گناه گاروں کے دلوں میں ہم اسی طرح یہی رچا دیا کرتے ہیں.
لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِهِ ۖ وَقَدْ خَلَتْ سُنَّةُ الْأَوَّلِينَ
English Translation:
They would not believe in it (the Quran), and already the example of (Allah's punishment of) the ancients (who disbelieved) has gone forth.
اردو ترجمہ:
وه اس پر ایمان نہیں لاتے اور یقیناً اگلوں کا طریقہ گزرا ہوا ہے.
وَلَوْ فَتَحْنَا عَلَيْهِم بَابًا مِّنَ السَّمَاءِ فَظَلُّوا فِيهِ يَعْرُجُونَ
English Translation:
And even if We opened to them a gate from the heaven and they were to continue ascending thereto,
اردو ترجمہ:
اور اگر ہم ان پر آسمان کا دروازه کھول بھی دیں اور یہ وہاں چڑھنے بھی لگ جائیں.
لَقَالُوا إِنَّمَا سُكِّرَتْ أَبْصَارُنَا بَلْ نَحْنُ قَوْمٌ مَّسْحُورُونَ
English Translation:
They would surely say: "Our eyes have been (as if) dazzled. Nay, we are a people bewitched."
اردو ترجمہ:
تب بھی یہی کہیں گے کہ ہماری نظر بندی کر دی گئی ہے بلکہ ہم لوگوں پر جادو کر دیا گیا ہے.
وَلَقَدْ جَعَلْنَا فِي السَّمَاءِ بُرُوجًا وَزَيَّنَّاهَا لِلنَّاظِرِينَ
English Translation:
And indeed, We have put the big stars in the heaven and We beautified it for the beholders.
اردو ترجمہ:
یقیناً ہم نے آسمان میں برج بنائے ہیں اور دیکھنے والوں کے لیے اسے سجا دیا ہے.
وَحَفِظْنَاهَا مِن كُلِّ شَيْطَانٍ رَّجِيمٍ
English Translation:
And We have guarded it (near heaven) from every outcast Shaitan (devil).
اردو ترجمہ:
اور اسے ہر مردود شیطان سے محفوظ رکھا ہے.
إِلَّا مَنِ اسْتَرَقَ السَّمْعَ فَأَتْبَعَهُ شِهَابٌ مُّبِينٌ
English Translation:
Except him (devil) that gains hearing by stealing, he is pursued by a clear flaming fire.
اردو ترجمہ:
ہاں مگر جو چوری چھپے سننے کی کوشش کرے اس کے پیچھے دہکتا ہوا (کھلا شعلہ) لگتا ہے.
وَالْأَرْضَ مَدَدْنَاهَا وَأَلْقَيْنَا فِيهَا رَوَاسِيَ وَأَنبَتْنَا فِيهَا مِن كُلِّ شَيْءٍ مَّوْزُونٍ
English Translation:
And the earth We spread out, and placed therein firm mountains, and caused to grow therein all kinds of things in due proportion.
اردو ترجمہ:
اور زمین کو ہم نے پھیلا دیا ہے اور اس پر (اٹل) پہاڑ ڈال دیئے ہیں، اور اس میں ہم نے ہر چیز ایک معین مقدار سے اگا دی ہے.
وَجَعَلْنَا لَكُمْ فِيهَا مَعَايِشَ وَمَن لَّسْتُمْ لَهُ بِرَازِقِينَ
English Translation:
And We have provided therein means of living, for you and for those whom you provide not [moving (living) creatures, cattle, beasts, and other animals].
اردو ترجمہ:
اور اسی میں ہم نے تمہاری روزیاں بنا دی ہیں اور جنہیں تم روزی دینے والے نہیں ہو.
وَإِن مِّن شَيْءٍ إِلَّا عِندَنَا خَزَائِنُهُ وَمَا نُنَزِّلُهُ إِلَّا بِقَدَرٍ مَّعْلُومٍ
English Translation:
And there is not a thing, but with Us are the stores thereof. And We send it not down except in a known measure.
اردو ترجمہ:
اور جتنی بھی چیزیں ہیں ان سب کے خزانے ہمارے پاس ہیں ، اور ہم ہر چیز کو اس کے مقرره انداز سے اتارتے ہیں.
وَأَرْسَلْنَا الرِّيَاحَ لَوَاقِحَ فَأَنزَلْنَا مِنَ السَّمَاءِ مَاءً فَأَسْقَيْنَاكُمُوهُ وَمَا أَنتُمْ لَهُ بِخَازِنِينَ
English Translation:
And We send the winds fertilizing (to fill heavily the clouds with water), then caused the water (rain) to descend from the sky, and We gave it to you to drink, and it is not you who are the owners of its stores [i.e. to give water to whom you like or to withhold it from whom you like].
اردو ترجمہ:
اور ہم بھیجتے ہیں بوجھل ہوائیں ، پھر آسمان سے پانی برسا کر وه تمہیں پلاتے ہیں اور تم اس کا ذخیره کرنے والے نہیں ہو.
وَإِنَّا لَنَحْنُ نُحْيِي وَنُمِيتُ وَنَحْنُ الْوَارِثُونَ
English Translation:
And certainly We! We it is Who give life, and cause death, and We are the Inheritors.
اردو ترجمہ:
ہم ہی جلاتے اور مارتے ہیں اور ہم ہی (بالﺂخر) وارث ہیں.
وَلَقَدْ عَلِمْنَا الْمُسْتَقْدِمِينَ مِنكُمْ وَلَقَدْ عَلِمْنَا الْمُسْتَأْخِرِينَ
English Translation:
And indeed, We know the first generations of you who had passed away, and indeed, We know the present generations of you (mankind), and also those who will come afterwards.
اردو ترجمہ:
اور تم میں سے آگے بڑھنے والے اور پیچھے ہٹنے والے بھی ہمارے علم میں ہیں.
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ يَحْشُرُهُمْ ۚ إِنَّهُ حَكِيمٌ عَلِيمٌ
English Translation:
And verily, your Lord will gather them together. Truly, He is All-Wise, All-Knowing.
اردو ترجمہ:
آپ کا رب سب لوگوں کو جمع کرے گا یقیناً وه بڑی حکمتوں والا بڑے علم والا ہے.
وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا الْإِنسَانَ مِن صَلْصَالٍ مِّنْ حَمَإٍ مَّسْنُونٍ
English Translation:
And indeed, We created man from sounding clay of altered black smooth mud.
اردو ترجمہ:
یقیناً ہم نے انسان کو کالی اور سڑی ہوئی کھنکھناتی مٹی سے، پیدا فرمایا ہے.
وَالْجَانَّ خَلَقْنَاهُ مِن قَبْلُ مِن نَّارِ السَّمُومِ
English Translation:
And the jinn, We created aforetime from the smokeless flame of fire.
اردو ترجمہ:
اور اس سے پہلے جنات کو ہم نے لو والی آگ سے پیدا کیا.
وَإِذْ قَالَ رَبُّكَ لِلْمَلَائِكَةِ إِنِّي خَالِقٌ بَشَرًا مِّن صَلْصَالٍ مِّنْ حَمَإٍ مَّسْنُونٍ
English Translation:
And (remember) when your Lord said to the angels: "I am going to create a man (Adam) from sounding clay of altered black smooth mud.
اردو ترجمہ:
اور جب تیرے پروردگار نے فرشتوں سے فرمایا کہ میں ایک انسان کو کالی اور سڑی ہوئی کھنکھناتی مٹی سے پیدا کرنے والا ہوں.
فَإِذَا سَوَّيْتُهُ وَنَفَخْتُ فِيهِ مِن رُّوحِي فَقَعُوا لَهُ سَاجِدِينَ
English Translation:
"So, when I have fashioned him completely and breathed into him (Adam) the soul which I created for him, then fall (you) down prostrating yourselves unto him."
اردو ترجمہ:
تو جب میں اسے پورا بنا چکوں اور اس میں اپنی روح پھونک دوں تو تم سب اس کے لیے سجدے میں گر پڑنا.
فَسَجَدَ الْمَلَائِكَةُ كُلُّهُمْ أَجْمَعُونَ
English Translation:
So, the angels prostrated themselves, all of them together.
اردو ترجمہ:
چنانچہ تمام فرشتوں نے سب کے سب نے سجده کر لیا.
إِلَّا إِبْلِيسَ أَبَىٰ أَن يَكُونَ مَعَ السَّاجِدِينَ
English Translation:
Except Iblis (Satan), - he refused to be among the prostrators.
اردو ترجمہ:
مگر ابلیس کے۔ کہ اس نے سجده کرنے والوں میں شمولیت کرنے سے (صاف) انکار کر دیا.
قَالَ يَا إِبْلِيسُ مَا لَكَ أَلَّا تَكُونَ مَعَ السَّاجِدِينَ
English Translation:
(Allah) said: "O Iblis (Satan)! What is your reason for not being among the prostrators?"
اردو ترجمہ:
(اللہ تعالیٰ نے) فرمایا اے ابلیس تجھے کیا ہوا کہ تو سجده کرنے والوں میں شامل نہ ہوا؟
قَالَ لَمْ أَكُن لِّأَسْجُدَ لِبَشَرٍ خَلَقْتَهُ مِن صَلْصَالٍ مِّنْ حَمَإٍ مَّسْنُونٍ
English Translation:
[Iblis (Satan)] said: "I am not the one to prostrate myself to a human being, whom You created from sounding clay of altered black smooth mud."
اردو ترجمہ:
وه بولا کہ میں ایسا نہیں کہ اس انسان کو سجده کروں جسے تو نے کالی اور سڑی ہوئی کھنکھناتی مٹی سے پیدا کیا ہے.
قَالَ فَاخْرُجْ مِنْهَا فَإِنَّكَ رَجِيمٌ
English Translation:
(Allah) said: "Then, get out from here, for verily, you are Rajim (an outcast or a cursed one)." [Tafsir At-Tabari]
اردو ترجمہ:
فرمایا اب تو بہشت سے نکل جا کیوں کہ تو رانده درگاه ہے.
وَإِنَّ عَلَيْكَ اللَّعْنَةَ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ الدِّينِ
English Translation:
"And verily, the curse shall be upon you till the Day of Recompense (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)."
اردو ترجمہ:
اور تجھ پر میری پھٹکار ہے قیامت کے دن تک.
قَالَ رَبِّ فَأَنظِرْنِي إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ يُبْعَثُونَ
English Translation:
[Iblis (Satan)] said: "O my Lord! Give me then respite till the Day they (the dead) will be resurrected."
اردو ترجمہ:
کہنے لگا کہ اے میرے رب! مجھے اس دن تک کی ڈھیل دے کہ لوگ دوباره اٹھا کھڑے کیے جائیں.
قَالَ فَإِنَّكَ مِنَ الْمُنظَرِينَ
English Translation:
Allah said: "Then, verily, you are of those reprieved,
اردو ترجمہ:
فرمایا کہ اچھا تو ان میں سے ہے جنہیں مہلت ملی ہے.
إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ الْوَقْتِ الْمَعْلُومِ
English Translation:
"Till the Day of the time appointed."
اردو ترجمہ:
روز مقرر کے وقت تک کی.
قَالَ رَبِّ بِمَا أَغْوَيْتَنِي لَأُزَيِّنَنَّ لَهُمْ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَأُغْوِيَنَّهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ
English Translation:
[Iblis (Satan)] said: "O my Lord! Because you misled me, I shall indeed adorn the path of error for them (mankind) on the earth, and I shall mislead them all.
اردو ترجمہ:
(شیطان نے) کہا کہ اے میرے رب! چونکہ تو نے مجھے گمراه کیا ہے مجھے بھی قسم ہے کہ میں بھی زمین میں ان کے لئے معاصی کو مزین کروں گا اور ان سب کو بہکاؤں گا بھی.
إِلَّا عِبَادَكَ مِنْهُمُ الْمُخْلَصِينَ
English Translation:
"Except Your chosen, (guided) slaves among them."
اردو ترجمہ:
سوائے تیرے ان بندوں کے جو منتخب کر لیے گئے ہیں.
قَالَ هَـٰذَا صِرَاطٌ عَلَيَّ مُسْتَقِيمٌ
English Translation:
(Allah) said: "This is the Way which will lead straight to Me."
اردو ترجمہ:
ارشاد ہوا کہ ہاں یہی مجھ تک پہنچنے کی سیدھی راه ہے.
إِنَّ عِبَادِي لَيْسَ لَكَ عَلَيْهِمْ سُلْطَانٌ إِلَّا مَنِ اتَّبَعَكَ مِنَ الْغَاوِينَ
English Translation:
"Certainly, you shall have no authority over My slaves, except those who follow you of the Ghawin (Mushrikun and those who go astray, criminals, polytheists, and evil-doers, etc.).
اردو ترجمہ:
میرے بندوں پر تجھے کوئی غلبہ نہیں ، لیکن ہاں جو گمراه لوگ تیری پیروی کریں.
وَإِنَّ جَهَنَّمَ لَمَوْعِدُهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ
English Translation:
"And surely, Hell is the promised place for them all.
اردو ترجمہ:
یقیناً ان سب کے وعدے کی جگہ جہنم ہے.
لَهَا سَبْعَةُ أَبْوَابٍ لِّكُلِّ بَابٍ مِّنْهُمْ جُزْءٌ مَّقْسُومٌ
English Translation:
"It (Hell) has seven gates, for each of those gates is a (special) class (of sinners) assigned.
اردو ترجمہ:
جس کے سات دروازے ہیں۔ ہر دروازے کے لیے ان کا ایک حصہ بٹا ہوا ہے.
إِنَّ الْمُتَّقِينَ فِي جَنَّاتٍ وَعُيُونٍ
English Translation:
"Truly! The Muttaqun (pious and righteous persons - see V. 2:2) will be amidst Gardens and water-springs (Paradise).
اردو ترجمہ:
پرہیزگار جنتی لوگ باغوں اور چشموں میں ہوں گے.
ادْخُلُوهَا بِسَلَامٍ آمِنِينَ
English Translation:
"(It will be said to them): 'Enter therein (Paradise), in peace and security.'
اردو ترجمہ:
(ان سے کہا جائے گا) سلامتی اور امن کے ساتھ اس میں داخل ہو جاؤ.
وَنَزَعْنَا مَا فِي صُدُورِهِم مِّنْ غِلٍّ إِخْوَانًا عَلَىٰ سُرُرٍ مُّتَقَابِلِينَ
English Translation:
"And We shall remove from their breasts any sense of injury (that they may have), (So they will be like) brothers facing each other on thrones.
اردو ترجمہ:
ان کے دلوں میں جو کچھ رنجش وکینہ تھا، ہم سب کچھ نکال دیں گے ، وه بھائی بھائی بنے ہوئے ایک دوسرے کے آمنے سامنے تختوں پر بیٹھے ہوں گے.
لَا يَمَسُّهُمْ فِيهَا نَصَبٌ وَمَا هُم مِّنْهَا بِمُخْرَجِينَ
English Translation:
"No sense of fatigue shall touch them, nor shall they (ever) be asked to leave it."
اردو ترجمہ:
نہ تو وہاں انہیں کوئی تکلیف چھو سکتی ہے اور نہ وه وہاں سے کبھی نکالے جائیں گے.
۞ نَبِّئْ عِبَادِي أَنِّي أَنَا الْغَفُورُ الرَّحِيمُ
English Translation:
Declare (O Muhammad SAW) unto My slaves, that truly, I am the Oft-Forgiving, the Most-Merciful.
اردو ترجمہ:
میرے بندوں کو خبر دے دو کہ میں بہت ہی بخشنے والا اور بڑا ہی مہربان ہوں.
وَأَنَّ عَذَابِي هُوَ الْعَذَابُ الْأَلِيمُ
English Translation:
And that My Torment is indeed the most painful torment.
اردو ترجمہ:
اور ساتھ ہی میرے عذاب بھی نہایت دردناک ہیں.
وَنَبِّئْهُمْ عَن ضَيْفِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ
English Translation:
And tell them about the guests (the angels) of Ibrahim (Abraham).
اردو ترجمہ:
انہیں ابراہیم کے مہمانوں کا (بھی) حال سنا دو.
إِذْ دَخَلُوا عَلَيْهِ فَقَالُوا سَلَامًا قَالَ إِنَّا مِنكُمْ وَجِلُونَ
English Translation:
When they entered unto him, and said: Salaman (peace)! [Ibrahim (Abraham)] said: "Indeed! We are afraid of you."
اردو ترجمہ:
کہ جب انہوں نے ان کے پاس آکر سلام کہا تو انہوں نے کہا کہ ہم کو تو تم سے ڈر لگتا ہے.
قَالُوا لَا تَوْجَلْ إِنَّا نُبَشِّرُكَ بِغُلَامٍ عَلِيمٍ
English Translation:
They (the angels) said: "Do not be afraid! We give you glad tidings of a boy (son) possessing much knowledge and wisdom."
اردو ترجمہ:
انہوں نے کہا ڈرو نہیں، ہم تجھے ایک صاحب علم فرزند کی بشارت دیتے ہیں.
قَالَ أَبَشَّرْتُمُونِي عَلَىٰ أَن مَّسَّنِيَ الْكِبَرُ فَبِمَ تُبَشِّرُونَ
English Translation:
[Ibrahim (Abraham)] said: "Do you give me glad tidings (of a son) when old age has overtaken me? Of what then is your news?"
اردو ترجمہ:
کہا، کیا اس بڑھاپے کے آجانے کے بعد تم مجھے خوشخبری دیتے ہو! یہ خوشخبری تم کیسے دے رہے ہو؟
قَالُوا بَشَّرْنَاكَ بِالْحَقِّ فَلَا تَكُن مِّنَ الْقَانِطِينَ
English Translation:
They (the angels) said: "We give you glad tidings in truth. So be not of the despairing ones."
اردو ترجمہ:
انہوں نے کہا ہم آپ کو بالکل سچی خوشخبری سناتے ہیں آپ مایوس لوگوں میں شامل نہ ہوں.
قَالَ وَمَن يَقْنَطُ مِن رَّحْمَةِ رَبِّهِ إِلَّا الضَّالُّونَ
English Translation:
[Ibrahim (Abraham)] said: "And who despairs of the Mercy of his Lord except those who are astray?"
اردو ترجمہ:
کہا اپنے رب تعالیٰ کی رحمت سے ناامید تو صرف گمراه اور بہکے ہوئے لوگ ہی ہوتے ہیں.
قَالَ فَمَا خَطْبُكُمْ أَيُّهَا الْمُرْسَلُونَ
English Translation:
[Ibrahim (Abraham) again] said: "What then is the business on which you have come, O Messengers?"
اردو ترجمہ:
پوچھا کہ اللہ کے بھیجے ہوئے (فرشتو!) تمہارا ایسا کیا اہم کام ہے؟
قَالُوا إِنَّا أُرْسِلْنَا إِلَىٰ قَوْمٍ مُّجْرِمِينَ
English Translation:
They (the angels) said: "We have been sent to a people who are Mujrimun (criminals, disbelievers, polytheists, sinners).
اردو ترجمہ:
انہوں نے جواب دیا کہ ہم مجرم قوم کی طرف بھیجے گئے ہیں.
إِلَّا آلَ لُوطٍ إِنَّا لَمُنَجُّوهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ
English Translation:
"(All) except the family of Lout (Lot). Them all we are surely going to save (from destruction).
اردو ترجمہ:
مگر خاندان لوط کہ ہم ان سب کو تو ضرور بچا لیں گے.
إِلَّا امْرَأَتَهُ قَدَّرْنَا ۙ إِنَّهَا لَمِنَ الْغَابِرِينَ
English Translation:
"Except his wife, of whom We have decreed that she shall be of those who remain behind (i.e. she will be destroyed)."
اردو ترجمہ:
سوائے اس (لوط) کی بیوی کے کہ ہم نے اسے رکنے اور باقی ره جانے والوں میں مقرر کر دیا ہے.
فَلَمَّا جَاءَ آلَ لُوطٍ الْمُرْسَلُونَ
English Translation:
Then, when the Messengers (the angels) came unto the family of Lout (Lot).
اردو ترجمہ:
جب بھیجے ہوئے فرشتے آل لوط کے پاس پہنچے.
قَالَ إِنَّكُمْ قَوْمٌ مُّنكَرُونَ
English Translation:
He said: "Verily! You are people unknown to me."
اردو ترجمہ:
تو انہوں (لوط علیہ السلام) نے کہا تم لوگ تو کچھ انجان سے معلوم ہو رہے ہو.
قَالُوا بَلْ جِئْنَاكَ بِمَا كَانُوا فِيهِ يَمْتَرُونَ
English Translation:
They said: "Nay, we have come to you with that (torment) which they have been doubting.
اردو ترجمہ:
انہوں نے کہا نہیں بلکہ ہم تیرے پاس وه چیز لائے ہیں جس میں یہ لوگ شک شبہ کر رہے تھے.
وَأَتَيْنَاكَ بِالْحَقِّ وَإِنَّا لَصَادِقُونَ
English Translation:
"And we have brought to you the truth (the news of the destruction of your nation) and certainly, we tell the truth.
اردو ترجمہ:
ہم تو تیرے پاس (صریح) حق لائے ہیں اور ہیں بھی بالکل سچے.
فَأَسْرِ بِأَهْلِكَ بِقِطْعٍ مِّنَ اللَّيْلِ وَاتَّبِعْ أَدْبَارَهُمْ وَلَا يَلْتَفِتْ مِنكُمْ أَحَدٌ وَامْضُوا حَيْثُ تُؤْمَرُونَ
English Translation:
"Then travel in a part of the night with your family, and you go behind them in the rear, and let no one amongst you look back, but go on to where you are ordered."
اردو ترجمہ:
اب تو اپنے خاندان سمیت اس رات کے کسی حصہ میں چل دے اور آپ ان کے پیچھے رہنا ، اور (خبردار) تم میں سے کوئی (پیچھے) مڑکر بھی نہ دیکھے اور جہاں کا تمہیں حکم کیا جارہا ہے وہاں چلے جان.
وَقَضَيْنَا إِلَيْهِ ذَٰلِكَ الْأَمْرَ أَنَّ دَابِرَ هَـٰؤُلَاءِ مَقْطُوعٌ مُّصْبِحِينَ
English Translation:
And We made known this decree to him, that the root of those (sinners) was to be cut off in the early morning.
اردو ترجمہ:
اور ہم نے اس کی طرف اس بات کا فیصلہ کر دیا کہ صبح ہوتے ہوتے ان لوگوں کی جڑیں کاٹ دی جائیں گی.
وَجَاءَ أَهْلُ الْمَدِينَةِ يَسْتَبْشِرُونَ
English Translation:
And the inhabitants of the city came rejoicing (at the news of the young men's arrival).
اردو ترجمہ:
اور شہر والے خوشیاں مناتے ہوئے آئے.
قَالَ إِنَّ هَـٰؤُلَاءِ ضَيْفِي فَلَا تَفْضَحُونِ
English Translation:
[Lout (Lot)] said: "Verily! these are my guests, so shame me not.
اردو ترجمہ:
(لوط علیہ السلام نے) کہا یہ لوگ میرے مہمان ہیں تم مجھے رسوا نہ کرو.
وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَلَا تُخْزُونِ
English Translation:
"And fear Allah and disgrace me not."
اردو ترجمہ:
اللہ تعالیٰ سے ڈرو اور مجھے رسوا نہ کرو.
قَالُوا أَوَلَمْ نَنْهَكَ عَنِ الْعَالَمِينَ
English Translation:
They (people of the city) said: "Did we not forbid you to entertain (or protect) any of the 'Alamin (people, foreigners, strangers, etc. from us)?"
اردو ترجمہ:
وه بولے کیا ہم نے تجھے دنیا بھر (کی ٹھیکیداری) سے منع نہیں کر رکھا؟
قَالَ هَـٰؤُلَاءِ بَنَاتِي إِن كُنتُمْ فَاعِلِينَ
English Translation:
[Lout (Lot)] said: "These (the girls of the nation) are my daughters (to marry lawfully), if you must act (so)."
اردو ترجمہ:
(لوط علیہ السلام نے) کہا اگر تمہیں کرنا ہی ہے تو یہ میری بچیاں موجود ہیں.
لَعَمْرُكَ إِنَّهُمْ لَفِي سَكْرَتِهِمْ يَعْمَهُونَ
English Translation:
Verily, by your life (O Muhammad SAW), in their wild intoxication, they were wandering blindly.
اردو ترجمہ:
تیری عمر کی قسم! وه تو اپنی بدمستی میں سرگرداں تھے.
فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ الصَّيْحَةُ مُشْرِقِينَ
English Translation:
So As-Saihah (torment - awful cry, etc.) overtook them at the time of sunrise;
اردو ترجمہ:
پس سورج نکلتے نکلتے انہیں ایک بڑے زور کی آواز نے پکڑ لیا.
فَجَعَلْنَا عَالِيَهَا سَافِلَهَا وَأَمْطَرْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ حِجَارَةً مِّن سِجِّيلٍ
English Translation:
And We turned (the towns of Sodom in Palestine) upside down and rained down on them stones of baked clay.
اردو ترجمہ:
بالﺂخر ہم نے اس شہر کو اوپر تلے کر دیا اور ان لوگوں پر کنکر والے پتھر برسائے.
إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ لِّلْمُتَوَسِّمِينَ
English Translation:
Surely! In this are signs, for those who see (or understand or learn the lessons from the Signs of Allah).
اردو ترجمہ:
بلاشبہ بصیرت والوں کے لیے اس میں بہت سی نشانیاں ہیں.
وَإِنَّهَا لَبِسَبِيلٍ مُّقِيمٍ
English Translation:
And verily! They (the cities) were right on the highroad (from Makkah to Syria i.e. the place where the Dead Sea is now).
اردو ترجمہ:
یہ بستی ایسی راه پر ہے جو برابر چلتی رہتی (عام گذرگاه) ہے.
إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَةً لِّلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
English Translation:
Surely! Therein is indeed a sign for the believers.
اردو ترجمہ:
اور اس میں ایمان والوں کے لیے بڑی نشانی ہے.
وَإِن كَانَ أَصْحَابُ الْأَيْكَةِ لَظَالِمِينَ
English Translation:
And the dwellers in the wood [i.e. the people of Madyan (Midian) to whom Prophet Shu'aib was sent by Allah), were also Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers, etc.).
اردو ترجمہ:
اور بے شک اَیکَہ بستی کے رہنے والے يقيناً ظالم تھے.
فَانتَقَمْنَا مِنْهُمْ وَإِنَّهُمَا لَبِإِمَامٍ مُّبِينٍ
English Translation:
So, We took vengeance on them. They are both on an open highway, plain to see.
اردو ترجمہ:
جن سے (آخر) ہم نے انتقام لے ہی لیا۔ یہ دونوں شہر کھلے (عام) راستے پر ہیں.
وَلَقَدْ كَذَّبَ أَصْحَابُ الْحِجْرِ الْمُرْسَلِينَ
English Translation:
And verily, the dwellers of Al-Hijr (the rocky tract) denied the Messengers.
اردو ترجمہ:
اور حِجر والوں نے بھی رسولوں کو جھٹلایا.
وَآتَيْنَاهُمْ آيَاتِنَا فَكَانُوا عَنْهَا مُعْرِضِينَ
English Translation:
And We gave them Our Signs, but they were averse to them.
اردو ترجمہ:
اور ہم نے ان کو اپنی نشانیاں بھی عطا فرمائیں (لیکن) تاہم وه ان سے روگردانی ہی کرتے رہے.
وَكَانُوا يَنْحِتُونَ مِنَ الْجِبَالِ بُيُوتًا آمِنِينَ
English Translation:
And they used to hew out dwellings from the mountains (feeling themselves) secure.
اردو ترجمہ:
یہ لوگ پہاڑوں کو تراش تراش کر گھر بناتے تھے، بے خوف ہوکر.
فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ الصَّيْحَةُ مُصْبِحِينَ
English Translation:
But As-Saihah (torment - awful cry etc.) overtook them in the early morning (of the fourth day of their promised punishment days).
اردو ترجمہ:
آخر انہیں بھی صبح ہوتے ہوتے چنگھاڑنے آدبوچا.
فَمَا أَغْنَىٰ عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُوا يَكْسِبُونَ
English Translation:
And all that which they used to earn availed them not.
اردو ترجمہ:
پس ان کی کسی تدبیروعمل نے انہیں کوئی فائده نہ دیا.
وَمَا خَلَقْنَا السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا إِلَّا بِالْحَقِّ ۗ وَإِنَّ السَّاعَةَ لَآتِيَةٌ ۖ فَاصْفَحِ الصَّفْحَ الْجَمِيلَ
English Translation:
And We created not the heavens and the earth and all that is between them except with truth, and the Hour is surely coming, so overlook (O Muhammad SAW), their faults with gracious forgiveness. [This was before the ordainment of Jihad holy fighting in Allah's Cause].
اردو ترجمہ:
ہم نے آسمانوں اور زمین کو اور ان کے درمیان کی سب چیزوں کو حق کے ساتھ ہی پیدا فرمایا ہے ، اور قیامت ضرور ضرور آنے والی ہے۔ پس تو حسن وخوبی (اور اچھائی) سے درگزر کر لے.
إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ الْخَلَّاقُ الْعَلِيمُ
English Translation:
Verily, your Lord is the All-Knowing Creator.
اردو ترجمہ:
یقیناً تیرا پروردگار ہی پیدا کرنے والا اور جاننے والا ہے.
وَلَقَدْ آتَيْنَاكَ سَبْعًا مِّنَ الْمَثَانِي وَالْقُرْآنَ الْعَظِيمَ
English Translation:
And indeed, We have bestowed upon you seven of Al-Mathani (the seven repeatedly recited Verses), (i.e. Surat Al-Fatiha) and the Grand Quran.
اردو ترجمہ:
یقیناً ہم نے آپ کو سات آیتیں دے رکھی ہیں. کہ دہرائی جاتی ہیں اور عظیم قرآن بھی دے رکھا ہے.
لَا تَمُدَّنَّ عَيْنَيْكَ إِلَىٰ مَا مَتَّعْنَا بِهِ أَزْوَاجًا مِّنْهُمْ وَلَا تَحْزَنْ عَلَيْهِمْ وَاخْفِضْ جَنَاحَكَ لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
English Translation:
Look not with your eyes ambitiously at what We have bestowed on certain classes of them (the disbelievers), nor grieve over them. And lower your wings for the believers (be courteous to the fellow-believers).
اردو ترجمہ:
آپ ہر گز اپنی نظریں اس چیز کی طرف نہ دوڑائیں، جس سے ہم نے ان میں سے کئی قسم کے لوگوں کو بہره مند کر رکھا ہے، نہ ان پر آپ افسوس کریں اور مومنوں کے لیے اپنے بازو جھکائے رہیں.
وَقُلْ إِنِّي أَنَا النَّذِيرُ الْمُبِينُ
English Translation:
And say: "I am indeed a plain warner."
اردو ترجمہ:
اور کہہ دیجئے کہ میں تو کھلم کھلا ڈرانے والا ہوں.
كَمَا أَنزَلْنَا عَلَى الْمُقْتَسِمِينَ
English Translation:
As We have sent down on the dividers, (Quraish pagans or Jews and Christians).
اردو ترجمہ:
جیسے کہ ہم نے ان تقسیم کرنے والوں پر اتارا.
الَّذِينَ جَعَلُوا الْقُرْآنَ عِضِينَ
English Translation:
Who have made the Quran into parts. (i.e. believed in a part and disbelieved in the other).
اردو ترجمہ:
جنہوں نے اس کتاب الٰہی کے ٹکڑے ٹکڑے کر دیئے.
فَوَرَبِّكَ لَنَسْأَلَنَّهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ
English Translation:
So, by your Lord (O Muhammad SAW), We shall certainly call all of them to account.
اردو ترجمہ:
قسم ہے تیرے پالنے والے کی! ہم ان سب سے ضرور باز پرس کریں گے.
عَمَّا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ
English Translation:
For all that they used to do.
اردو ترجمہ:
ہر اس چیز کی جو وه کرتے تھے.
فَاصْدَعْ بِمَا تُؤْمَرُ وَأَعْرِضْ عَنِ الْمُشْرِكِينَ
English Translation:
Therefore proclaim openly (Allah's Message Islamic Monotheism) that which you are commanded, and turn away from Al-Mushrikun (polytheists, idolaters, and disbelievers, etc. - see V. 2:105).
اردو ترجمہ:
پس آپ اس حکم کو جو آپ کو کیا جارہا ہے کھول کر سنا دیجئے! اور مشرکوں سے منھ پھیر لیجئے.
إِنَّا كَفَيْنَاكَ الْمُسْتَهْزِئِينَ
English Translation:
Truly! We will suffice you against the scoffers.
اردو ترجمہ:
آپ سے جو لوگ مسخراپن کرتے ہیں ان کی سزا کے لیے ہم کافی ہیں.
الَّذِينَ يَجْعَلُونَ مَعَ اللَّهِ إِلَـٰهًا آخَرَ ۚ فَسَوْفَ يَعْلَمُونَ
English Translation:
Who set up along with Allah another ilah (god), they will come to know.
اردو ترجمہ:
جو اللہ کے ساتھ دوسرے معبود مقرر کرتے ہیں انہیں عنقریب معلوم ہو جائے گا.
وَلَقَدْ نَعْلَمُ أَنَّكَ يَضِيقُ صَدْرُكَ بِمَا يَقُولُونَ
English Translation:
Indeed, We know that your breast is straitened at what they say.
اردو ترجمہ:
ہمیں خوب علم ہے کہ ان کی باتوں سے آپ کا دل تنگ ہوتا ہے.
فَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ وَكُن مِّنَ السَّاجِدِينَ
English Translation:
So glorify the praises of your Lord and be of those who prostrate themselves (to Him).
اردو ترجمہ:
آپ اپنے پروردگار کی تسبیح اور حمد بیان کرتے رہیں اور سجده کرنے والوں میں شامل ہو جائیں.
وَاعْبُدْ رَبَّكَ حَتَّىٰ يَأْتِيَكَ الْيَقِينُ
English Translation:
And worship your Lord until there comes unto you the certainty (i.e. death).
اردو ترجمہ:
اور اپنے رب کی عبادت کرتے رہیں یہاں تک کہ آپ کو موت آجائے.
